stock shift light
on my 97 civic i have a 5spd trans. on the cluster when ever i am driving it brings up a green up arrow that i think means to shift but im not sure.
i will be driving in 5th gear and it will tell me to shift........
in 1st gear it tells me to shift at 1500 rmp's
what is the deal with this light
(i am some what a newb)(not sure about all the elect.)

I dont know if this is the same thing but i have a green econo light on my cluster which lights up if im driving the car economically, it doesnt mean shift. Ive got it on my EK3(1.5 sohc).

Just checked my car there, my light is in the lower part of the cluster inbetween the rev counter and speedo. I think your light will be the same as mine.

yeah HXs I believe got the little gay change gear light, so do CXs not sure about VX. It's ment for fuel economy, so you don't rev high. It's trying to tell you to shift.

Thats getting old
And yea the light is designed to tell the driver the best shift point for gas milelage. also if you go full throttl it will turn off, and back on close to the redline.
