hey guyz...i was just wondering...i see on videos how people have their shift light on their gauge using their CEL light or something... do you guys know how to do this? I don't want a huge tack on the corner of my dash...i want a clean look...and how would u set the shift light at a certain RPM? any help would be appreicated! THANKS!
If you have a small light (such as the CEL light on your cluster), what's the point of a shift light? You have to look at your cluster anyway, so you might as well just look at your tach which is one inch away.
The point of a shift light is to have something very close to your line of sight, as well as having something very bright.
You basically still need a shift light. You need to wire it so that when it goes off, it's wired to another light instead. Note that a shift light is usually pretty damn bright, perhaps you can mount it somewhere else instead of the usual spot on top of the dash.

i believe those with the CEL - shift light are using UberData or something.
this is from what i've heard from friends.
you might wanna look into the uberdata forums and see if its mentioned on there. or here on h-t.

i believe hondata can do it also, anyways why most ppl use the CEL as a shift light is because they dont look at the gauges. u dont have to look down to know that ur CEL is on. i think its called peripheral vision or whatever. where u can see things around u but never really look at it.
With uberdata its just a matter of checking a box in the software. Once you're set up with it, you will be able to change all kinds of things, esp, when you're boosted.
Its about $15 for chipping supplies, $70 for a chip burner. Then you can datalog too.
I have been running it for about 6 mos, and love it. There's also crome which is another program. check out pgmfi.org if you have more q's.
