I used to boost around 5psi....with stock exhaust piping.
One day while boosting, my car became loud.....due to the piping that separated from the downpipe. I had it secured temporarily with a hangar. I also put in a new ignition coil to replace my 115K mile one that ran it on 3 cylinders.
Now, I can boost to 7psi. How come? Would the "open" exhaust and new coil do that?

having very little backpressure can cause certain wastegates to creep a couple pounds of boost. it has nothing to do with your ignition

Yeah, it's on a Deltagate.
Running it open like that is funny. It's so damn loud. It idles like my friend's worked Mustang Cobra which runs 9's.
