well i just went back to my work to work on the car in the parking lot. it seems as if though it threw a code this time. it threw code 5. i looked it up and it appears to be a console shift switch. i guess that i wil have to try and replace or adjust this frst huh? i don't know how it could be bad. the dash shows that it's in the proper gear.

fixed the reason why the code was popping up and it's still slipping. this is starting to freak me out. i'm really getting pissed off now at this car.

i can detec codes and doesn't have a steady red light on. last thing that i can think of elec wise is that the battery is pretty dead. i have been jump starting it everytime. so i'm gonna try and replace the battery and see if that helps. i'm thinking that maybe there isn't enough juice to open/close the shift solinoids.

after taking it for a short test drive tonight i ended up with the car not moving at all in drive. so after puching the car for a few hundred feet trying to get back to the shop i decided to give reverse a try. it went into reverse no problem and i drove in reverse the whole way back to the shop. this is starting to get old real quick.

sounds to me like you got a bad transmission... i had the same symptoms and when i replaced the trans with a known working part, it was good again...

you may want to consider putting in a decent sized transmission fluid cooler... i got one off on a ford aerostar van at the junkyard, and it keeps my transmission very cool... it's a good idea to put a bigger-than-stock transmission cooler on these cars...

hope my 2 cents helps any...

thank s again for the relies. the car has also gotten a different converter with each trans. and it works fine for a few min but then just goes all to ****. i tried today with a better battery and it's still fucked. i'm gonna give the shop a call and tell them that i want my money back.

he is close enough that i could drive over and beat his ***. keep in mind here though that each tranny that i have gotten after the first hasn't cost me a dime. he is being very good about this and hasn't even asked for the old ones back. he's not even charging me shipping. if i can get this all resolved ok i would recommend this shop to anyone. so far i've just been losing allot of labor.

well here's the update. i just got to drive the car after finishing putting another trans in again. this is the 3rd one. this trans was spamed "F20" instead of f22 like the rest. i haven't had the time to mess with the car plus it took him a while to send the trans.

so anyways i just got driving it for a long time and it seems to be good. i have the trans cooler bypassed till i can flush it again. but now i'm getting a trans code #12. one long flash then 2 short. anyone know what this is? i'm throwing a CEL as well cause i broke the engine temp sensor while putting in the trans. anyone know what code 12 is? "S" light is flashing.
