will a 88 integra ls d16a1 intake manifold work on a 98 civic dx d16y7 motor and if yes is it a better intake the the one that is lready on the car

thanks the reason i was askin is i have a 88 ls dohc nonvtec motor just sitiin in the garage and i was wonderin if the intake mani would be bigger and if it would fit

B to D series intake mani's wont swap. Is it a d or a b engine?

The Y8 manifold is the best from a d-series.

 

I got a 89 Integra LS with the D16A1 DOHC NonVTEC and the intakemanifold if you look at it closely, that manifold fits on a B16A2 Without no problems, i also have a Y8 Intake and i've swaped both intakes and i'll tell you i feel a beter response with the D16A1 Intake than the Y8.

 

the 88 LS d16a1 is a old school dohc but IS a d series motor just didnt have vtec in that year. the motor that is in my car now is a d16y7 DX which is a d series motor also.the d16a1 is from a old car i never had the chance to put in and sold the car.

now i have both motors, d16y7 sohc in car and d16a1 dohc is sittin around in the garage, since i can not use the d16a1 in my civic i was wonderin if i could use the parts. ive heard in the past tht all d series are interchangable but i dont want to take apart the engines to try myself

no the intake manifold will not bolt onto the y8 head or any other head other than the zc. you could put that head on the y8...........

 

d16a1=1988 acura integra ls dohc non-vtec ( i have around)
d16y7= 1998 honda civic DX sohc non-vtec ( i have in the car )
d16y8= 1998 honda civic EX sohc Vtec ( i dont have )
so i can only put the head from the d16a1 on a d16y8 EX block, cuz the engine thats in the car as of right now is a d16y7, i thought the y7 and the y8 used the same block?

 

i meant put it on what ever engine you had.
