Default I've decided on headwork. Now who do I go to for it?

Yes, my project never ends. After thinking long and hard about this, it'd be damn shame to put a stock head on this car after doing so much block work. I was thinking of using ITR intake valves, and stainless .5mm over exhaust valves, and having the combustion chamber enlarged, deburred, and port work done. This is to go with my 84.5mm GSR block, built, 9.5:1 CR, DRAG BB turbo with XS GTR i/c and Hondata. Other top end parts include 64mm TB, JG/Edelbrock Victor X intake manifold, Toda cam gears, GSR head/cams, ITR valve springs, Skunk 2 retainers. Looking for setup suggestions, as well as the actual porters. Need a hook up as money is tight. Thanks

Portflow is doing my head. Heres what im gettign what what it cost me.

1mm oversized Ferrea valves
bronze valve guides
open chambers to 85mm and polish
clean up the ports (its already ported i just need it smoothed out)
new seats cut
assembly

everything ran me 830 bucks, i think that was a deal.

how did you get that price for all of that? I was told 850 w/ no parts from Portflow. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I know that people will flame and all......but I have the JG proseries head. 1mm oversized ss valves, full race port and polish, 3&5 angle valve job, Ti retainers, dual race springs, valve guides, seals, hot-tank, etc for around 1150 or so. That is with me supplying the head, them doing all the labor and parts.

Well, I know I will really get flamed, but Endyn does some quality work. I have read all the his-said-she-said stuff, and I have seen his work, and the performance of it. Portflow is good, but Endyn will do it to your specs, whatever it takes. Portflow has different stages it will do, but I like the idea of having my head made to perform with the mods I have, just my .02 though.

I would not let DPR or Gude touch my head to save my life. A buddy sent his head out to get it reworked by DPR, it took forever for him to get it back, he sent a ton of money, and produced less hp running the exact same setup. Portflow and Endyn are the only two that I have seen the work done, and the performance shows. If you need any opinions on JG, just hit JG luder up in the Prelude forum.

After speaking with Tom at Portflow, I'm sending my cylinder head off to him on Monday or Tuesday. He's got great prices. Anyone know what his actual turn around time is?

John....you know what....I've got a VERY similar setup to you. 9.5:1 JE pistons but only 81.5mm with Gozilla sleeves...yada yada....I had my head done but just got it cleaned up and added ITR intake and .5mm over SS exhaust valves along with titanium retainers and ITR springs and ITR cams. The motor should be done by either the end of next week or the following. I just had the ports cleaned up cause alot of people say the ports on Honda (GSR) heads are already good. It's weird looking at your set up though....cause you got a lot of the same parts.....I got a XS GTR IC too!

-Trung

PS. I forgot....also in a 95' Civic Coupe!
