Default i blew my 00b16 block, tryin to find a way to clean new block

i just picked up a b16c1 short block from a friend of mine, and inside the combustion camber theres a lil rust in there from it sittin for a while, he said i can clean it with with some carburator cleaner and wipe it carefully, then its some automatic trans fluid put a lil in each camber and rotate the crank, till it cranks freely, just wondering if anyone has done this without gettin the actually block honed out, is there any other way of cleaning it out, thanks

as far as i know you can go to the local hardware/ parts store and buy a cylinder honing tool that will attach to the end of a drill. and it should cost about the same as that quart of trans fluid. if you don't have any luck with that your first idea should work i'd add a bit of sandpaper very fine grit to remove the rust before turning the engine over.

yeah I wouldnt use either one of those meathods (sp?) because if you use sand paper you take awau the etching of the stock hone and with the hone thing thats just going to make the hone bigger than what it already is and the rings are not going to seal like before.... my best advice is to spray it with the carb cleaner and use the trans fluid untill it spins freely
