Default Installing new water pump....

I'am going to be installing a new water pump on my d16. I am not goin to replace the timing belt because it is fairly new so do I have to take the crank pulley off and remove the timing belt, or can i just take it off of the cam gear and and get the water pump out that way. Thanks

You can just take the belt off the cam gear, if you can put it back on that way. Sometimes it's tricky but it's easier that way .

You don't have to take the crank pulley off...It's pretty easy putting the belt back on w/out taking the crank pulley off. Do it!

You dont need to remove the crank pulley but your going to need to remove the lower timing belt cover to get to the water pump, and you have to remove the pulley to get the lower cover off.. If you dont have the lower cover on there for some reason then you can do it..

when you remove the w/p some coolent is going to poor out right on the belt (bad). i would sugest removeing the pully. it's not that hard, put the car in 5th gear, aply the breaks and use a breaker bar.
