Default code 20, ELD.

Im getting a code 20 Electronic load detector. What could be causing this? I just installed a CTR N1 pully not too long ago, could my alternator be dying? I run with my lights on and the blower on 4, stereo is stock, battery is relocated to rear. My battery dosent drain if the car sits.

My alt belt is loose and squeeks till around 2.5k, the car is comming off the road in 2 days for storage and its bitter cold so i didnt fix it. I can tell my lights get brighter (by looking at dash lights) once the squeeking stops around 3k, could it be the alt cant handle the load of my accessories? Eaither because the belt is slipping, or possibly because the pully cant spin the alt fast enough till about 3k?

Help! I never noticed before because my check engine light wasnt comming on, i could only see the code if i checked, which i just do periodically.

Thanks.

Get your Alternator checked. I have the same problem with my std zc. I just changed the distributor and had to hand wire the distributor wires. They all seem fine but I still get a code. Some of the wiring in my car is not the greatest since the previous owner swapped the std to an si. Also my lights are dim until I rev up the engine. I did an alternator test and it wasn't showing full amps but not bad....

I found out that the alternator uses an electric load conductor with the it when I went to advanced auto parts to get my battery checked, check your belt, if not the belt then get a new alternator. I need an alternator myself.

I have seen an ELD code when the large white wire that runs from the alternator to the engine bay fuse box wasn't connected.

So possibly a probelm with that connection or an alternator problem may be causing it.
