Default Cost of bottom end rebuild?

In the next week or two, I may end up purchasing a 5th gen Prelude off a close friend of mine. Although the engine hasn't been extremely beat on by him, the engine does have more than 135k miles and I plan to do be doing some heavy modding to it.

I was wondering, how much on average would it cost me to rebuild the bottom end? New bearings, piston rings, gaskets, seals and everything else needed. I considered using forged pistons and rods, but I have been told the h22 has to be sleeved for forged piston use so I may end up going with Type S pistons since the install of cams will be inevitable.

Thanks.

resleeving is around 1k alone if you decide to do that. if you want a completely built block with new sleeves, pistons, rods, all machine work, etc it'll be around 3k depending on who does the work.

since you are already spending that much, oem parts are not cheap, go aftermarket

....what was that supposed to mean? I suppose you meant fully built, but at first it's yours and then the guy has good prices and is awesome? I am confused

My stepdad is a mechanic, so I get all the parts at 15% discount of dealer price, I don't really want to build my current block because there will be too much downtime and buying another block is more money to spend.

I think he meant that he got a fully built h22a and the guy that did the build is awesome and has good prices. Might want to ask him who this person is.

If he doesn't want to sleeve, then I would definately go with OEM parts.

He said an OEM rebuild, so he does not need to sleeve. Sleeving is only needed if you run forged pistons...

for an all motor build i say JUN pistons, 12.3 and frm sleeves are fine....but the bill will be about 1k for those babies.....

thats my plan anyway, cryo the crank, Crower rods, and Jun pistons....then oem bearings and full balancing.....

I have type S pistons, rings, and camshafts in my room waiting to be installed. Do I need to replace the sleeves and the rods also? I have skunk2 springs and retainers also, but I am not really sure If they are neccessary. Almost every reply on that subject conflicts with the next in the Type S cam thread .
anybody who has just type S pistons and cams installed know about how much it should cost?

edit: BTW I have a 92 JDM H22A
