Default ls/vtec in my 91 ef - girdle or no girdle??

What are everyone's opinions on girdles for ls/vtec builds? Im looking at the Golden Eagle kit, which include the girdle, gsr main bolts, windage tray and oil pickup, and its around $380. The motor is a NA ls/vtec, with ctr pistons, etc...basically a high compression NA motor.

Is the girdle worth the cost? Also, the info says "All girdles MAY require block align boring AFTER install!" What is block align boring?

Thanks

Alfred

Are there any other aftermarket components in your bottom end? Basically the girdle helps to keep the engine "stable" and high RPM's. But if you don't have the parts to take advantage of it i.e. rods, I wouldn't bother.

Better safe then sorry. Why put so much money into an engine combination that has time and time again shown to be somewhat unstable when rev'd out and not take the necessary precautions to keep your investment alive. IMO Get the girdle. - Darrell
