LS/Vtec Why So Potent?
Why is everyone starting to favour an LS/Vtec?
I search and rad threw a few threads but could only find people with the swap or looking to do it. Nothing on the mechanics.
Is it that compression is bumped really high and thats why they have high maintenance and breakdown problems?
Im buying a 1gen Sol this summer and was looking to do an all motor LS/Vtec build up. Just looking for some basic info on them, Im going to be doing an LS block on most likely a GSR head.

well in my opinion ppl favor ls/vtec becaseu its not that expensive to do and blocks are cheap, the motor will also provide you with more torque which most inline four engines regardless of honda or not lack.

man, this is like 5/10 yrs old...
a) it is cheap
b) it gives good power

No, it raises a little but thats just because the head. The crazy compression come when you add itr or b16 pistons. It can get around 13:1 with other b-series pistons if you want.
The reason for problems is probably neglect from the builder. There are a few things that need to be done and some that are recommended. Sometimes it doesnt all get done right.
