Default New ITR owner - Quick question

I am going to pick up my ITR tomorrow. I've driven it a few dozens times (it's actually a good friend of mine's).

My question is, what suspension setup would give me a similar ride to the setup on my EG?

EG Suspension - Koni Yellows, Ground Control coilovers (425F/550R)

I wouldn't mind getting the same setup for the ITR, but would think the spring rates would be different because of the different weight.

I think there are a few ITR guys that are running revalved KONI w/ 700f/600r.

I talked to 92TypeR for a little while last night and he strongly recommended ithe set-up to me.

And people criticized me for going overboard on the spring rates!

I would think the jump in spring rate from the 2 cars would make a HUGE difference. I'm looking for something closer to my setup on the EG.

I would say that you should try it in stock form for a little while to see if you like it... then modify after some time/mileage.

I've had plenty of seat time on this ITR to know that the suspension could use some stiffening. It has Sportlines on it now (he just wanted a lower stance).

Define "seat time" in this ITR? Have you tracked it yet? And if so what experience did/do you have?

Did you get the stock springs as well?

And how fugged up are the stock shocks now after the drop?

If you liked the Koni/GC setup, you might want to contact CRXlee to help you decide a similar setup for the R.

Seat time = spirited driving (non-track)

I have the stock springs as well, and as far as I can tell the stock shocks are in good condition as well. But the car does have 95k miles on the chasis, so the shocks probably aren't perfect.

Your definition would easily be misconstrued then.

If those are the original stock shocks I wouldn't be surprised if they're on their way out if they aren't already bouncing all over the place.

What about Koni's with Stock springs? I'm sure that would be a vast improvement to begin with.

BUT, What's your goal and budget? That's really the first 2 things you need to decide.

Here's a nifty link to some suspension topics and putting a post for the FAQ:

My goal is to have a very firm nice planted ride without spending much more than $1000 on shocks, springs, and some sort of camber ajustment.

Why not just keep it stock? OEM suspension handles

But is there not room for improvement?
