Car doesn't move when in gear. :(
I was on my way to school today, and the car broke down. I was coming out of a turn onto a main road, in second gear when I hear a slight grinding/crunching sound. The car would not accelerate anymore. With it in gear, I could press the clutch in and out and it did absolutely nothing. I pushed it off to the side... but I am at a complete loss as to what this could be.
It makes this churning noise when I push the clutch in, no matter whether in gear or neutral. The speedometer kinda bounces up when I give it gas (I believe when it was in gear).
What the hell could this be.

have your CV joints been giving you trouble lately?
Same thing happened to me, minus the speedometer jumping (that i recall)
Where is the sound coming from?

It was after the turn, not through the turn.
Also, I talked to some people and have gotten the following possibilites:
-clutch disk itself (daily/street driven Centerforce 6 puck 4 months old)
-Throw out bearing
-Axle popped out even the slightest bit (1/4")
I quick checked the axles and they looked ok, however I won't be able to see 1/4" sticking out until I can take my wheel off.

Why are you yelling? Turn the caps off.
Most likely, your CV Axle/Joint popped out and/or broke.

Anyway to check that... will pulling off the wheel and inspecting do the trick?
I'd check right now but I don't have the damn wheel key...

Well, either jack your car all the way up and place it on jack stands (both sides). Place it in 1st and see what happens from under the car. Check if the CV joint is spinning or of anything is moving.
You can try having someone look under the car from the front while you're in 1st, but you don't want something to happen as in the car launching forward for some reason spraying brain matter all over your car.

I'll prolly pass on the spraying brain matter, but I'll try jacking it up and just spinning it.

Update:
My uber cool neighbor with a modded WRX came over to take a peek at the problem. We started the car up. When in neutral, clutch in, no noise. However when letting the clutch out, the clunking noise arrived. It's coming from the driver side of the car. He listened, and said it was coming right from where the axle is at.
