cel contantly blinking?????
Saturday my cel came on. I reset it and it came on again. Long story short My code was74 when i checked it tuesday . A few minutes ago. I just noticed the light was constantly blinking. I shut the car off and turn it back on and it just stays lit with no blinking this time. Im just curious why did it start blinking like that. Maybe its trying to tell me I have another error to check?
if your light is on and stays on then it nothing major. if it is blinking then get it to the dealer ASAP!!!! my tech told me a blinking cel is not good!!!
71-76 misfire cylinder 1-6
with the ones digit being the cyl #
If the light is blinking constantly, you have a serious problem thats making the ecu
very unhappy. Have you done something to your car recently?
The last time i saw that happen was when I installed a POS crane ignition box
on a civic and it misfired constantly causing the MIL to flash.

I think it was blinking because it was trying to tell me I have more error codes. My abs light started showing its azz. I think the weather down here has caused the sensors to get frozen or something.

Theres nothing wrong with the motor. It runs stronger than the last one I think. I havent dyno'd it yet to prove that. It has about 20k miles on it and Im about to change the spark plugs and get a valve adjustment next week. Im real curious to know what it would put out but then again Im pretty sure in the 160-170hp range. I dont feel its reason enough to justify me spending the money to know that. Would you like to bet me?

oki doki. I replaced spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Same code 74 whats next possible. I had a feeling I was wasting my money.
I was told when it blinks you are in limp mode... could be wrong though
it usually blinks when there is ongoing detonation(or what the ECU *THINKS* is detonation.
when you are in limp mode, your rev limit goes down to 6000
l already tried that. No problem hitting vtec when flashing like continuously. Can this be caused by improper idling, meaning maybe I should adjust the idling screw. My timing had been adjusted to 16-17 degrees a few months ago. ???
every time i have seen the MIL just blink it was due to detonation problems
and the car ran like crap.
why dont you see what codes you have and let us know.

same code every time code 74. I guess next is to do compression check. I think I might try adjusting the idle by the screw on the throttle body. everyone talks about how the 2000 and up motors have different cams. My car is a 98 obd2 but i have a 2000-2001 motor?
