go to a junkyard and pull one off a crx or a 4door lx or something like that I am sure the newer ones 92-95 will work too but not 100 percent sure you should be able to find one

hahah......I was just asking a general question as to whether the plastic piece is an actual vital part that is needed. For example, if you don't have it will it be ok to run the car?

Looks like it is there to protect what is inside..

Inside the "nut" is a spring-loaded valve which is activated by fuel pressure.

Hmm, the plastic thing was always said to be a dampener of some sorts.

Do these things change by year? or can they be used between most hondas? i know you cant because i took one off my friends mpfi swap and it didnt fit on my d16a6 mpfi swap... so eh i still need one for a d16a6

the whole assembly is a pulse dampener. it's purpose is to make the flow as even/smootha s possible since the fule pump doesn't have the most perfect flow.

I realize that, but there are no test to prove what it really is there for and Honda has never once said it, it could be there just to protect that spring. What is the purpose of the spring though ?
