Default which ecu?

well since my p28 is not working properly i was wondering what should i do with it should i take the ecu and send it out or shoule i get a new ecu? if should get a new ecu should i get a hondata or what?

engine is a b16 in a 97 civic lx i have the obd covertion already

did you have the p28 chipped for the application? you can use an obd1 pr3, not sure what else, not big on b16 stuff.

i didn't know they made pr3's for obd1 dam, well the chip i have i got with the ecu i think it is a home made chip so i am going to get another one and see what happens from there.

Ok here we go! For your app. I'd prob recommend the obd1 p30. The p30 was found in the pre 96 dohc del sols. However, due to how rare they are getting they are a little expensive (around $200-300). Don't get me wrong tho... you can get another p28, get it chipped for your application, and get it done a whole lot cheaper (around $100) but, nothing beats stock reliability.

PS: I wouldn't really think about sending out the old ecu to get repaired because the price it would cost to fix it would most likely be the same if not more then getting another one.
