Default ****Automatic seatbelt troube**** PLEASE HELP

like it says i have a '90 lx sedan with automatic seatbelts and the driver side belt one day just stopped retracting, so now it is stuck in the forward position and the seatbelt alarm rings the whole time the car is running, this has proven to be extremly annoying. I looked at all the fuses in the fuse blocks and they all seem to be good. Is there a relay or something somewhere that could be bad or something and if so where is it located?? I know someone out there has had this happed, please help me out.. thanks for all insights

Does it want to move at all then stales out? If that is the case what you can do is make it start retracting and when it stalls PULL ON IT like there is no tomorrow. Once it locks in place around the driver, take off the panel over the seat belt motor and DISCONNECT the sensor. That way, the next time you open the door it wont try and slide foward. Then, take to dealership as seatbelts are a LIFETIME warranty item.

If it doens't want to move at all, disregard instructions on how to move and take it to dealership anyways.

no it does not want to move at all, it is just stuck all the way forward all the time, and i have pulled pretty hard on it and it does not move then either..... So your saying that i can just take my civic into any honda dealership and they will fix it free of charge??? Is this because its a safety item or something, i have never heard of this before

Did they end up replacing your belts? My 91 is doing the same thing for both front belts, and the fuses at the battery are good.
