Default Why don't I see many Turbo guys in here also using Nitrous?

I had never really considered N20 until recently. I was wondering if anyone in here is using both together. As I have read, a wet shot direct port system would be the best choice in a turbocharged application.

Am I asking for detonation if I don't build the engine (b18B)? I hear people say that nitrous will aid in spooling up your turbo.....eh, well aren't you not supposed to spray until after 2500 rpms anyway?

How does that all work out, if say I had the car tuned with hondata for boost, then sprayed nitrous under full boost too? Would the car lean out big time?

Is it really worth the trouble, or should I just crank up the boost to get more power? Am I looking at about a $1000 project if I decided to add like a NOS 55 wet shot?

Ahh, too many questions. damn me.

I have it on my car but i have not sprayed it yet i got a 50 shot dry NOS kit am going to try it soon in a few weeks when i go to the dyno and make sure i don't run lean before i do it on the street and hurt something am running 440cc so am just going to tune the AFC on the dyno just richen it up a lot

They say on a 50shot am going to make about 70hp off it so ill see soon and ill post my hp when i go to the dyno it should be some nice numbers i hope

but my plans is when i go to the track am trying to leave on the bottle with some 26-8-15M/T slicks so i can put some real # on the board get some of them
1.5-1.6 60 foots times

I plan on using it later in the year when i get my car running good. Im basically going to use it as an insurance policy. If im heading down the track and i see fenders or doors im spraying. I plan to do only like a 35 shot.

I know out here where street racing is huge that a lot of guys run a cheater or sneaky pete system, using any advantage you can get. Its just too many power adders in our cars to run both systems and the fuel and timing change is unbelieveable and makes it hard to tune properly, all the people i know that say they only use to spool the snail spray til redline in every gear, so it is really just another power adder.

There are Pros and Cons with using Nitrous on top of a turbo.

Pros
Cools the intake temp significantly, thus detering detonation
Additional HP just as you would with Nitrous only

Cons
Can easily destroy smaller turbos
Can kill shafts, thus leading to short turbo life

I think many people would rather rely on the turbo itself to make power rather than put up with the possible consiquences of nitrous. Personally, I don't think anyone needs nitrous on top of a turbo unless they plan on squeezing every bit of HP out of their motor as possible, and even then they should have a built motor to tune!

It's hard enough to control everything just to keep a turbo engine in perfect tune. Everytime I've added some nitrous, something breaks. Not worth it to me.

Kinda what I was thinking....If I misjudged the car I'm racing and didn't have the boost up enough, I could hold down the button a little to pull ahead.

Ok.....say that money wasn't an issue, but the person wanted to keep the stock engine. Is it still not possible to get a fogger style nitrous system setup in conjunction with a t3/t4 turbo to run reliably and safely? If it cools the intake charge, and helps prevent detonation, then it sounds like there are some great benefits to having it.

How would it kill shafts, leading to shorter turbo life? I'm not so sure what you mean here.
