Default ECU, does it work imediately?

I finished a h22 into a h23 prelude, my problem now is i dont feel like i have enough power. As i drive the car it seems to be running better but not perfect. So my question - does the ECU need time to adjust to the engine? Or should i just go get it dynoed. ive only had the car up and running for 3 days.

Give it a few days. Who knows how long your motor has been sitting without being run.

Mine took a few days to run well. My hesitation is KIND OF went away. My car was a little sluggish when I first drove with the H22. My h23 ran perfectly though. I did notice the difference in bottomend torque.

Drive it around, flush out the oil after a few hundred miles, and you should be set.

It runs well. I still have a hesitation issue every once in a while though. I still need to do a tune up on it. I want to check my timing, change my distributor cap and rotor, and wires, and clean my intake filter.

Without replacing these things, my car dynoed at 179whp with an AEM intake, Hondata IM gasket, Carsound cat, and Thermal cat-back exhaust. That's it.

I can definitely squeeze out more HP/performance when I tune it.

Right after i swapped mine i hade a bunch of little bugs i had to work out. The one that made my car almost a 1/2 sec slower in the 1/4 mile was my secondaries staying closed. Once i fixed that the car pulled like hell in vtec. But if your using the old motors ecu i reccomend getting a p13 asap and dont drive the car until you do. If you need a p13 i have one just contact me.

Dynojet.

I beat out a slightly modded 98 328is. He dynoed at 170whp...which is a little low for that car. He ran before me.

Oh, here is a video clip of my ca rin action. That's a Testarossa in front of me. Pay close attention to when we get to the top of the road.

That was at Summit Point in West Virginia. Cool track. This event happened last Oct. I went to VIR (Virginia Internation Raceway) in southern Va (Va/NC border) two weeks ago. Now THAT place is AWESOME!!!

Dude, you guys have Road Atlanta down there. You should go there. Do a search and check out their website. I am sure they have a track schedule posted, or will have one very soon.

I was speaking with a guy from NC at VIR who goes to Road Atlanta often. He was raving about it. He said it is a scary track...but fun. I will go eventually. Watkins Glenn and Mid-Ohio are on my list for next year.
