Default Emergency HELP CRX wont start

i was coming to a stop at a light, and my car stalled out, wouldnt start back up.

- Grounds good
- Has full battery power
- Main Relay clicking
- Getting fuel
- Spark was not too good, but had never given me problems, may need new plugs
- Pulled off the distributor cap there, the rotor was good

The car just wouldnt turn over, Im thinking either distributor, lack of spark due to bad plugs/wires, or alternator.

The car has shown no sign of bad alternator, but its the only thing i can think of that would cause my car to randomly die. I have ran on just battery before, but it just wont start.

The only thing i can think of is i just replaced the ECU yesterday with a different PG7, possibly faulty, im heading back now to change it out, if that doesnt work, then all help and suggestions welcome, thanks, dave

if the main relay is clicking i do believe that is your problem right there. the only time i had a bad main relay is when it was clicking. replace it with a known good one and see what it does

when i said clicking, I meant the initial click to show that the fuel pump works.

I went back to the car, and it wouldnt turn over with the different ECU.

The car made an "odd, pumping sound" and im thinking its the fuel pump, but would this cause my car to suddenly die?

Try to push start the car and tell us what happens?

Odd that the car died. I was beginning to think starter until I realized that.

One of my cars took a **** in the Jack-in-the-Box drive-thru once, and my battery was drained and destroyed by a bad alternator a week later. I'm thinking that.

Once again, push start and tell us what happens, and we can go from there.

check the battery or the alternator... probably your battery just died out... but then again i would check your plugs and plug wires....

When was the timing belt replaced last? Does it sound like it has compression? Just making sure it's not that obvious...

so i came back the next morning and everything, we pulled the distributor apart. the plastic rotor was melted. The mechanic who helped me out said that probly the inside bearing was worn out, caused it to overheat, then melted the first plastic piece on there. So the dizzy is gone, we tried to take it apart and build another one from another broken dizzy with good bearing, but we lost, so currently im driving around on an LS dizzy, and i already bought the wrong $200 distributor, as i believe 88 has the 5 pin plug and the newer ones have the 7pin. hopefully it works.
