Default Some V-AFC ?'s

Alright, just to clear one thing up. I know our cars run rich from the factory, so when the V-AFC is installed does it make it run richer just by hooking it up? If so, how much? What kinda correction do any of you guys run on your cars? I know the best way is to tune it on a dyno, but I was just curious if any of you guys have tinkered with it and seen any gains. Right now I am running 0 correction.

Thanks! Corey

Do you know if it make the car run richer or not? That is the main thing I really want to know. Answers to the other ?'s would be good to though.

With the V-AFC installed with default settings, your fuel corrections stay the same as factory. I believe someone put it like this, "When installed with no settings changed other than 'initial set-up', the device becomes just an elaborate pretty thing to look at."
As for results on a stock R...
Here, this might help.
I installed mine recenlty with these results during a hot and humid Houston day.
I did the install myself. If you trust yourself with solder and wire splicing you should go for it. -After this experiance, I personally wouldn't trust anyone else to do it.

I'll post a dyno chart with an inlay that describes the settings, but until then:
from 1k-3k (-5%)
from 3k-4k (-7%)
from 4k-4.5K (-5%)
from 5.5k-7k (-8%)
from 7k-8k (-10%)
((VTEC crossover stayed at 5700RPM))
...I think I'm off a little, I'll correct as soon as I'm able.

Well, I already have it in my car and hooked up. The guy that put mine in has hooked up about 60 of them so I trusted him to do it. I have not messed with the fuel settings at all, but I have just heard that it runs richer with the V-AFC on it. So right now it is just something cool to look at? Oh well.

BTW, where does everyone have theirs mounted? I mounted mine where the map lights would go and ran the wiring in the headliner down to the ECU. I like whereit is mounted, cause it is out of site. When I am standing outside of my car, there is no way to tell that I have it in there. I have looked in every angle possible to see it and it just looks like I have nothing there.

Mr. JDM is right.
I watched to learn as best I could when the tech was dyno tuning my V-AFC. I noticed that even a very small incrimental change made a huge difference.
As if he found a 'sweet spot'.
I would be safe to say the V-AFC is useless without quality tuning.

I wish dyno time was only $40...More like $150 and a 3 hour drive to find someone who has tuned a vafc..........at least for me.....lol
