VAFC Question. Shitty running car!
Allright guys Ive got an SIR-II swap, and I just got a VAFC since I'll be turbo'd in a month or so... I hooked up the VAFC tonight and everythings wired right I guess since all the all the sensors work and I can stall the car by giving it too much fuel.
Question is though, it runs like **** now and I can get it running better if I use like +15% through the rpm range, but even then the A/F gauge reads super rich and it still has a lot less power then before. It runs even worse if i try and use -% numbers.
Just wondering if anyone has had this prob before and what the solution was? The cars loud and constantly bogging just on idle. Help!!!

my best suggestion is if you have any dyno places nearby take your car there. But try taking off the VAFC and running it stock again and see how the car idles and runs. If it still runs persistant and the way you like, than im thinking it's the VAFC if you bought it used.

Unplug the VAFC totally, hook the wire that you cut back together and see if the car runs normal again. If it does... then its one of 2 things.
1. The VAFC is installed wrong
2. The VAFC is defective.
That's basicly what your down to.

WTF is the point of getting a VAFC if your not going to dyno tune the car?
VAFC= tuning equipment.

you dont know what your doing bro, sorry but you dont need to be tinkering around in there if just a simple VAFC is giving you problems. Your going to get yourself into more motor problem. Best advice: dont touch any wiring!

Sorry man you shouldnt judge someone without knowing them.
I've built 2 OBD1->OBD2 harnesses, both working flawlessly, swaped 3 motors, and installed about 20 stereo setups. Also I've built different home electronics like computer fanbus' and small electronic stuff of that sort. Also, have gotton to AC/DC electronics 3 (involving calculus 2).
Sorry to brag or whatever, but yeah i was suprised and stumped that 10 wires could **** me over so bad , anyway though I should have read other posts and scraped the **** Apexi sends for connecting wires - i ended up un-doing the wiring, and soldering/heatshrinking everything and its works great now.
