Default Codes 7 and 16

Heyas guys

Ive got a 1988 CRX DX.
The CEL comes on after the car has warmed up while driving around. The ECU is throwing 7 (TPS) and 16 (injectors?). When the CEL comes on, I notice that the throttle response is delayed. I have to give it gas a few seconds before I engage the clutch so I dont dump the clutch. It dosent seem to run any differnt execpt for that. When I turn the car off, and restart it The CEL is not on and it seems to run normal for a few minutes before it come on again. I notice it tends to start happening when I come to a stop from the momentum of the car. Or like if I drive hard like high rev, speed shifting.

Ive thought about replacing the TPS, but I noticed its riveted on, any tricks for this?

Let me know what you guys think

Thanks
~AMH

your TPS will cause those problems....yes the TPS is riveted...what you do is drill out the rivets...dont use that big of a drill bit....be careful dont bust anything

Well I was also wondering about my O2 sensor, the ecu isnt thowing that code, but would that explain why it only throws codes when the engine is warmed up? Also I read about cutting a notch in the rivet to unscrew it.

If the ECU is reporting it, then you don't have to worry about it. First, diagnose and fix any problem that may be associated with the TPS. After that is properly taken care of, see if the injectors are still having a conniption fit and throwing a code; I have come to the realization back when I had my B2 that my fuel injector code would come up with pretty much any code not Oxygen Content (Code 1).
