Default washer/fitting thing on the Tial WG ?

i was wondering.... that silver metal ring thing that comes with the tial, that goes into the exhaust entrance port, is it supposed to sit flush with the WG mounting surface ? when i press it in as far as i can with my hands, it sticks out like 1-2 mm

no, mine did not flush with the surface...
no leaks...whatever you do, don't try to put it in the other way, I did it, it ended up stuck and I had to crack open the wastegate

Just make sure that it can be pushed in and pops back out when you let go. If it gets stuck, it'll leak like a summumma bitch. As far as it sticking out 1-2mm, I think it's fine. Just listen for any leaking.

It does not stick out after you bolt it down It is there to allow the plunger to seal properly..

It shouldn't take much to get the ring to push in when you tighten it down.

Holy ****..can someone please post some pics.. I installed a Tial and I dont remember any popping out-pushing in stuff.. I dont even know if i had a ring/washer thing.. I am not getting 7psi out of my tial either, only 5-6psi.. I was getting what I was supposed to out of my deltagage and had never really messed with my tial with the ebc off till recently. I figured it was prolly a boost leak but maybe i didnt put this thing you guys are talking about it.. help

The ring is at the left, and you have to install it or you will not only have trouble building boost but you will have a huge exhaust leak all the time!

Yeah, when my ring wasn't seated right, it caused my gasket to burn off rather fast. Also, it was hard to build boost until like 5k or so from what I remember. Damon, I would take the wastegate off and double check.

I remember that ring.. I put it on there for sure.. What do you mean exactly by seating it right? My other gasket burnt off in like 5 days but I thought it was because it was the crappy one that came with it..

If it isn't seated right, the ring won't push in and out. Mine got wedged diagonally somehow and started leaking because it would bolt down flush.

I'm sorry, I mean that it WOULDN'T bolt down flush.
