Bad VTEC Pressure Switch Cause Low Oil Pressure Reading?
i've got a recently built ls/vtec and have been trying to monitor everything before really putting any miles on it. i'm getting a code 22 and will be replacing the vtec pressure switch tonight. could this bad sensor be causing me to have low oil pressure? i can only guess i'm getting low pressure because i'm using an autometer gauge(part # 4322) that only reads from 0-20 psi. there is not a 10 psi mark so i have only been able to guesstimate. the oil pressure light has not come on and i'm not looking for it to come on either.
is there any way i can test the pressure with another external source? i've only got like 6 miles on the car since rebuild so there's no way for me to check to see if vtec even engages.
also, does anyone have a soundclip or symptoms of a bad bearing or bearing outside of it's tolerances? i plastigauged everything and it was all within spec. i would hate to put the required mileage on the motor only to have to tear it down to replace a bad bearing.
any information is appreciated.

not sure.. but I think all the pressure switch does is tell the ecu it is ok to engage vtec, later jdm motors don't even have them, so i don't believe it would effect pressure... but I don't know for sure if this is how the switch functions
