Default Wierd overheating problem

I droped a 93 gs engine into a rs and after it running fine for about 2 months it started overheating. I replaced the radiator and thermastate and fixed the fans. The water pump is fine its not leaking and its still overheating. I have no heat in my car either so i was thinking the heatercore but im not sure. I also i bleed the coolant for like a hour and there was still air in after a hour so i think i have other problems? Im out of ideas of what this could be, anybody have any ideas?????

Does the coolant tank fill up? If it does, it's the HG or the head/block may be warped. You sure the headstuds are torqued correctly?

no the coolant tank doesn't fill up. Would a bad HG cause the air pockets in the coolant to continually be there evan when im bleeding the coolant. There has to be something causing the air pockets because it should not take anywhere near a hour to bleed the system. I was thinking the heatercore would be the problem since there is no hot water in there since i have no heat so thats where my air pockets have to be, or right after the thermastate but the thermastate is new.

ok i bypassed the heatercore and now it doesn't overheat like it used. Now it will heat up and then cool off and then heat up and cool off. It seems like the thermastate is opening and then the engine cools off. Its just not opening up when its suppose to? But i just replaced it? Anybody have any ideas this car is just so confusing.

PS its only overheating and then cooling off when i get on the freeway. Otherwise its just fine, stays at the normal temp.
