why do you think your vtec is not working? does the engine light come on at the vtec engagement point? Is your car really over heating or is it just the thermostat?

I'd pull the CEL code, that will tell you why the light is on, also replace the thermostat, when it goes bad it can stick open and your guage reflects that you're overheating, it's a cheap part to replace and not hard to do at all. Hope this helps, good luck...btw your english is the suck imho

You need to get the code for that CEL. Could be oil pressure related or low oil? If the car runs hot and VTEC doesn't work (it operates on oil pressure) that could be a cause. Just a thought...

Cut the guy slack, it's his first post and he's in the Phillipines too.

You guys with the Vtech phone jokes, how very original! Always ready to cut on someone but I never see you giving any help or advice related to the question. Maybe because you don't know anything more technical about Hondas than the guy asking the question. Big deal, you know how to spell VTEC!!! You probably had to go look at your stickers to make sure...

If you don't know anything that can be useful, don't post.

i will take a stab at this.

1. check your oil level and make sure you get that code identified. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=682412

2. check your overflow tank for bubbles while the car is running (1. start car...2. take the top off the over flow tank and keep it in the coolant...3. check for bubbles.). If you see bubbles that means your headgasket is slowing going bad and you need to change ASAP.

IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE MUCH WORK AS FAR AS TUNE UP'S ECT...
I would do your spark plugs, wires, timing belt, headgasket, oil change, valve adjustment, clear your code(s). BUT thats just me and i'm **** about my car

There are some things that he (the orginal poster) needs to do before posting, sure he's needs a lot of help but there are guidlines to follow and he's proviced NO info on his set-up. How can you even begin to diagnose his problem without knowing anything about his set-up. maybe he has a clogged cat, maybe he has a bypass filter that got sucked in and is clogging his t/b, maybe his engine is stock, or maybe he has 395,987 miles on his engine and hasn't changed the oil in 50k miles. Who knows, so any solutions you have are about as usefull as those vtech comments. you can throw idea's out all day and still not get close, why not cut to the chase and get the proper info first time around.

Why don't you read up all the posts, I posted earlier trying to help the guy. Hmmm, looks alot like the advice you gave later. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one tired of the lame phone quip. If Bauley came in here he'd tell you the same thing.

Yes the info is incomplete but it's enough to take a stab at a solution. Giving options that might or might not be the exact solution is still better than a snide comment or some other hateful remark.

You sure talk alot of ****. You need to lighten up. You just prolly had alot of people cut on you for the same thing and you're mad so you want to sound off like you're the ****. BTW I just got my Honda and any thing that I see that I can help out with I will. The 20 day trial user 5 post a day thing also limits posts too. Also, EAT ****!!!!

Those of you bitching about other not being helpful...youre not helping.......

Here is how to check the CEL
http://www.hstuners.com/forums...23007

Did you connect all the wires for vtec, if it wasnt prewired for it?

Hows your coolant level? Do you have air in the system maybe?

When's the last time you had a tune-up?
