Default problem with idling, after installing in JDM ls engine

my friend has a 91' integra RS, and we just swapped in a 95' JDM ls motor. and when we started it up, it just revved up to 4.5k and either stay there or keep going up. we adjusted the throttle cable and there isn't anything wrong with that. we also tried adjusting the TB, and it's not helping either. my friend said it could be the map sensor (which is bolted on the firewall) but how could i adjust it? or does anyone else know what the problem could be? and there is no check engine light either. PLEASE HELP, TRYING TO GET THIS DONE BY TONIGHT

well, if it surges up and down at all it can be any type of vaccum leak? Do you hear a vaccum leak? Check all your vaccum hoses, check the seal around the injectors(the bottom seal)... if you can't find a leak and its not your idle screw or your throttle cable then try spraying starter fluid(carberatour cleaner?) around on hoses around the intake manifold, if it stops surging when you spray somewhere look for a vaccum leak on that hose... mmm i really dont know what else it could be.

You need to check the fast idle control valve on bottom of the throttle body. Or you can put the throttle body from you 91 rs motor to see if it goes away.

drive the car. seriously. i have read about a few people who have a fast idle problem and then drive the car. bring it up to highway speeds for a half hour and then shut the car off. the ecu needs to releard the motor after power has been lost to it sometimes. try it.

Also check for bad TB and intake manifold gaskets, they could also be causing the problems.
