Are OBD1 and OBD2 Dizzy's swapable ?
Is the difference only in the internal/external ignition coil ? Or are OBD1 the old Gear style as on many older cars ?
Just trying to swap a diff dizzy to see if i can get this check engine light, and i have access to an OBD1 but not OBD2.
Also, if it makes a difference im on a OBD1 P72 ECU.

you sure its not the other way around? currently i am throwing that code 9 CYP Sensor, that is supposed to only be in OBD2 Dizzy's. Since im running an OBD1 computer im thinking i can swap over if just the external/internal ignition coil are the only differences.
from my past experience the obd1 and obd2a dizzys all have the same sensors but the pickups read at different resistances, hence they are different , also the extra sensor that the obd2 computer looks for is called the crank speed flucuation sensor. atleast this is the case on the 1996 prelude..
i tried runing an obd2 dizzy and threw all kinds of codes
i also have a firned who is trying to run a obd1 dizzy on a 1996 honda prelude ecu, and he is getting random misfire codes and the dizzy is suspect, as the obd1 pickups have a lower resistance reading than those of the obd2
hope that helps
