Need real advice! PRO ONLY
The trannies I've seen (D, etc.) have the first, second, and reverse drive drive gears integral (no pun intended) with the input shaft. I've also noticed that, again - among the trannies I've seen, that CRX HF, DX, and Si input shafts are all the same.
This means that the only way to "change" 1st and 2nd overall would be to change out the FDR, which means changing out the output shaft....which also means it has to be compatible with the input shaft.
It's not a tranny design like a lot of the Porsches where you can change each individual drive/driven gear pair to get whatever combination of ratios you want.

not sure i understood it all! the best would be to have all my gsr gears on the crv tranny... but would the driveshaft still work to the rear diff? it's just too long of gears for turbo and way too weak for vtec.... waiting for reply.
