ok guys, i need help. i tried search...but i didn't find anything useful to me. I've been getting white smoke ever since i installed my turbo 4 months ago. it smokes alot at idle....not all the time....but i notice it alot especially when i'm letting my car warm up in the morning. here are the things people have told me to check, and some of the research i found here w/ the search function...
first- did a compression test. came out 220 across the board
second- test for head gasket. while car was warm, i opened radiator cap to see if there were any bubbles. I saw none.
third- test for turbo seal- i took apart IC pipes to see if oilly residue was visible. i saw nothing.
about a week ago, i boosted my car up from 7 psi to 10 psi. at 10 psi, my car felt strong, but i was leaking at the down pipe. when i dropped it back down to 7 psi, there were no more leaks. what could cause this problem? and why do i have white smoke? help please

I'm not sure what you mean by leaking at the downpipe, but if your downpipe is clean, and your headgasket is good, I would say possibly valve seals. Possibly something going on with the excess pressure in the crankcase. Try routing the pcv to a catch can and see if that helps the smoke.
On the boost pressures, check for leaks all the way from where the manifold meets the turbo to the charge pipe to throttle body connections.

well i meant oil was leaking at the down pipe bolts when i boosted it at 10 psi.
thanks for the response...i've been meaning to put on a catch can. maybe that might help my smoke. right now i have just a rubber tube hanging freely from the valve cover breather.
how can i check valve seals?

dripping out fo the downpipes bolts, only at 10 psi. when i'm down at 7...everything is ok again.

white smoke is not you turbo seals unless you have a water cooled turbo. Oil makes blue smoke, if its white its water or a it could be over fuelling a little bit at idle. Whats the weather like? my car is fine but on a cold day it has loads of white smoke at idle, specially until it warms up because of the condensation that has built up in the exhaust over night.
