Default SRP-Pistons good or bad for turbo b16a?

Are SRP-Pistons a good or a bad choise for b16a-Turbo?
If bad - why? Or what better choise?
Goal is roundabout 500hp as daily driver on german road conditions.
We decided for a 8.2 cr. Please do not dicuss about our CR-decision.
Thanks

I used 9.5:1 81.5mm bore SRP pistons on my last build and they sucked. I found out after the fact that they weren't even rated for turbo from a listing on the JE site.

I also had problems with my Total Seal rings so that my have been a large contributing factor.

I'd recommend ROSS, CP, or Weisco.

So why did they suck? I would blame the Total Seal rings if you had any problems. You should've used JE rings. I haven't had any problems with my SRP. I also don't know how you figure they weren't rated for turbo. Every SRP piston I have seen with C/R that low was designed for turbo or nitrous use.

I ran SRP pistons on my old b16-turbo setup.

The car ran strong, had ~380hp at the wheels. My manifold cracked one night, big boost spike, and put holes in two pistons where the valve reliefs hit the side on the exahust side. That seemed to be the only week spot.

If it means anything, I'm going w/ CP pistons on my new build.

anyone else with experience with srp pistons? i'm also looking at buying a set.

How does a company make a low compression piston no suited for forced induction?

What did the piston hit? I dont understand how cracking your (assumed exhaust) manifold contribute towards your piston smashing... what?

for more experience with these pistons

Sorry, my fault for not being clearer, I was on the phone when I typed that.

The crack in my exhaust manifold cause a boost spike. The extra heat melted holes in those weak spots. After inspection of the pistons, if it wern't for that weak spot at the valve reliefs, it appears that the pistons would of held up.
