JE Forged "turbo" pistons... can someone please provide some info?
I've heard that the JE forged pistons come in a "turbo" shape. Would this shape be the dome, dish or something else? Does anybody have any experience with these or know something I don't about them?

The JE 'turbo' pistons have a special dish shape in the middle of the piston head. It promotes swirl and proper cylinder filling with boosted applications.
great piston choice imo.

usually a "Turbo" marked piston without a listed Compression ration is just one that's dished to 9:1.
but the "Turbo"-specific piston could also be the composition or even the Die used to stamp the bottom. Turbo apps need to be more resistant to heat so they can afford to be a little heavier in places.

I just picked up a set of 84mm JE Pro Series 8.9:1. They are dished, if you need a set PM or email me at HPAutoworks@***.net. I can get you a good deal on them. Later Allen

I put a set of 'turbo' JE's in my old LS, JE makes the dished piston specifically for turbo and can be made to spec for about a bill more. I paid about $475 w/ rings for an off the shelf size. The turbo piston is different with the dished crown and I believe the top ring pack is brought down a bit.

i hate the stock bore dished je's. the valve reliefs are so thin they chip or melt all the time. they are much stronger in a flat top.
