Im new to the chats and i have a 89' honda crx dx 1.5 liter. I get an engine light after driving the car for a while. when i stop at a light, my idle does not go below 1000 rpms and sometimes stays there or fluctuates between 1000 and 1500 rmps. it goes up and down constantly. i checked the computer and counted the blinks, and counted 17. i looked into it and it says vehicle speed sensor. i called the dealer they say i dont have a vehicle speed sensor because its cable driven. what would be causing this has anyone had or heard of this problem. it's annoying and killing my gas mileage. any help will be appreciated. thanks

also i have replaced th O2 snesor coolant temp sensor and it has new radiator and thermostat.

On my car, I had to replace the instrument cluster to make it go away..
But it did not cause an idle fluxuation..

Does your speedometer work?
