Quick question...
I have a slight problem with my 97 DX... The other day leaving work, my speedometer went ape **** and my check engine light came on along with my car jumping/stalling.. etc. I pulled over, stopped into pep boys, they ran the reader.. o2 sensor and speed sensor. At first I was hesitant, I had an o2 sensor go bad every other week in my 99ex and never had the car do anything but stink. Took it to a honda dealer today, they said I'm throwing a CEL... for the same pep boys told me. I said I understand but I feel its more, however I could be wrong. Am I? Is it just both speed sensors and the o2 all at once causing havoc? Any help is appreciated. It has been a long time since I've been on these sites, I miss it!
EDIT: Isn't there only one speed sensor on a civic? They said "Both"... I don't remember there being two on my 99.

Re: Quick question...
There's only 1 speed sensor. There are 2 oxygen sensors. The first oxygen sensor will affect performance, the second one will not.
From the symptoms you describe, I would say the same thing as the Honda techs.

Re: Quick question...
The more I read the more I'm understanding why the first o2 sensor controls so much.. and yes, the 99 had a bad o2 after the cat so thats why it never had the symptons Iam having now.. I've read about how it messes the timing up and everything.. That might be why it keeps wanting to die.
