Default How much to hot tank and bore?

Hey Everybody,

Does anyone know how much it would be to hot tank my GSR block? Also how much would it be to bore it say .20 over? Where can I get these two things done?

The same machine shop will be able to hot tank and bore your cylinders for you. I would make a guess at 75-100$ to completely check your block and bore it, providing they don't have to disassemble it for you.

Thanks alot man. Also if I do re-bore my cylinders what will my piston to wall clearence be like? Will it be too loose for stock pistons or should I look for aftermarket ones? If so what size? Sorry for all the questions.

If you overbore .020 you better get 81.5 mm pistons. You may be able to just hone out your block and re-ring it. The machine shop will know what to do. They will check everything and tell you what you need. They may be able to use your old pistons and re-ring it wth new bearings. I'll take a guess at about $700 to have that done with them providing the rings and bearings. Its usually not too bad. At least where I live.
