94 H22a

I had the valves adjusted which quietted down the valvetrain, and had a compression and leak down test performed which turned out good, but now the metallic scratch/squeal is more promenent. It sounds as if it is coming from the water pump, tensioner area.

Just wondering if water pumps make a metallic sound when they are going out? I don't want the water pump to go out and cause the t-belt to snap and tear up my valvetrain.

Any help I would appreciate it.

up for some help.

 

If the bearing on the pump is going bad it can sound like that... but also check tensioner and idler bearings too.

 

The thing is it only does it on start up, and then at different times during the drive. Like if I am beginning to slow down and have it in nuetral and then decide to go and put it in like 2nd gear when going like 5mph it makes teh same noise. I have no clue, thanks for the help.
