I need help asap!!!!!!!!!!
i just bought a 96 ls bone stock and it is runin really really lean, also it sometimes stutters at street lights and the rpm drop, and i have a manit. reqd. light. was wondering what could that light refer to and how to find out the cause of those two problems. please help!
thanks,
manny

first off, the maint. requ.'d light means nothing except a friendly reminder from honda to change your oil. it can be reset by reaching just past the driver's kickpanel for a small, blue button. push it for a few seconds, and the light won't come on for i think 7500 more miles.
second, are you absolutely sure it's running lean and not rich? it is way more likely to run rich than lean. but tell me, when you're driving, is there a great loss in power? also, when at a stop light, is it always sputtering and rpm dropping, or only sometimes? just give me a little more info so i can help you out.
a compression tester is about $20 at autozone, and is one of the more important tools in a home mechanic's garage; no, i've never heard of oil in the distributor.

i agree with nolex7, i bet it's the fuel filter. it's very likely the culprit. if that's not it, you'll probably just need a good cleaning of the injectors.
