IACV screen
Sup, I'm in the process of cleanin my iacv in an attempt to solve an idle problem. And from searching i've noticed that there should be a screen on one of the holes. Mine has no screen, so i pulled the one from my sink, how would i go about gettin that sucker on/in there where its supposed to be? Is the screen neccessary? I would think so. Thanks
The car will idle normally, and then drop down to around 4-500 and sit there then jump back up to around 1000. Sometimes when i through the clutch in comin to a stop, it'll drop down to normal, jump up to about 1500 and then slowly come back down. While driving, i get some hesitation under 3000k; it loses some power between 1800-3k and when it hits 3k it hits vtec (i dont have vtec).
I just put it all back together and took it for a test drive. It idles and accels a lil smoother, but it still has the same problems. Next i'm gonna go through and readjust my valves and check timing, but i'm stumped, maybe my HG is goin?

The screen is not that important, I would leave it out just because your running a risk of it falling in your engine. The only thing the screen is suppose to do is to stop the iacv from getting dirty and clogged but its not really that effective. There are ways to check to see if its working, have you stuck a screw driver to it and put your ear up to it to hear if its clicking ? Also try bleeding your cooling system.
