Default going belt crazy!!!!

Needed some new belts for a swap 97 b18c5 into 94 ls with power steering and alternator for now. First belt, alternator is too big then the next which set me on fire , was the timing belt. The motor has skunk2 cam gears, would this make the difference? The belts came from advanced auto, looking to buy OEM, hopefully it will fix the problem.

For the timing belt, would the cam gears cause the belt to be tight before tension?
