Default what motor should i throw in?

imma buying a DA basically a shell doing all the necessary body work and such but it does need a new motor swap. i was thinking either a b16a XSI swap maybe or doing a b20z or JDM b20b with y1 b16 tranny. i tend to like torque and have done a b20z b4 in a ej coupe shell b4 just missed having higher end power tho. anyone with experience on both swaps in a DA can u describe to me what u liked better?
thanks
cliff

H22A would be good or a b18/b20 would also be good for a swap. but we need more info. How much r u willing to spend? What are you going to do with the engine? Are you going all motor or turbo? How much power are you looking for? For us to help you out we need to know more info.

well of course the b16 is gonna b faster starting out since it has 160hp. A B20b on has 125hp stock but once u do the CRV-TEC conversion... well lets just say DANG

word k20 from the rsx-s...forgot the full motor name...not too big on the new honda motors....
love my b18c1 though

you could always throw in a jdm h22 vtec if youve got space...

my advice would be the b16 if you're not gonna be doing a lot of work to the motor...(i just did this swap btw).

as for the b20. this isn't a bad idea either (cheaper than the b16 too), but will be a slug compared to the b16 unless you do quite a bit of work to it. and i'm not saying do b20/vtec because you didn't bring that up. and for the money required to do so, i'd say get a gsr longblock...but i'm getting off my point here. if you DO decide to get a b20 w/ a b16 tranny (be it s1, y1, ys1, whatever), AND you plan to drive this car on the freeway, i STRONGLY suggest having the fifth gear from an LS transmission installed or you will have very bad highway mileage. this due to the high rpm you'll be sitting at.

good luck with your new car

stock for stock the b16 will be faster
but i say go b20 so you can have the option of going b20 vtec later
and get a b16 s1/j1/ys1 trannie and dont get a b16 y1
the y1 sucks. it came off a jdm crx and the gears are much longer than the normal b16 gears
