Exhaust temp, oil pressure gauge..
I'm new to this, just wondering why I would need an exhaust temperature and oil pressure gauge, I know what they do, exhaust takes temps and oil of course takes measurement. If anyone could tell me what is the purpose of having it? Your help would be appreciative.
Lets say you spend 5000 on a B18C.......what/when will you know your oil pressure is dropping at a fast rate without an oil pressure guage? The exhaust temp is something with turbos.......probably better boost with the higher exhaust temps.
The exhaust gas temp can tell you if the car is running lean or rich.
More fuel = less heat while less fuel = more heat.
A oil pressure gauge will tell you the oil pressure obviously..which is good to know. Monitering oil pressure can also indicate the condition of the bearings. Tighter clearances = more pressure.
Also another good gauge is a Oil Temp gauge. Helps you know when the engine is having too much while racing, or even if youre low on oil. Less oil = more friction which = hotter oil temps. A oil pressure gauge will not tell you if youre say 1 qt low on oil.
