Default How do you guys keep traction in 1st and 2nd?

I haven't even gotten all my cylinders (only 3) firing yet and I break my tires loose at the top of 1st and pretty much all of 2nd when I shift hard.

I even put on my heavy 17's. Is there anything I can do to avoid this? If I mess around with people on the streets, they pass me in 2nd cuz I just spin. Not a fan....heh.

Will one of those boost controllers that adjust boost in each gear help me? Any other nifty devices or tricks out there? I can only imagine what will happen once I get my 3rd cylinder firing again.

I just got my tires too....hmph. And I have a 4 puck ACT clutch.....can you say instant engagement? I'm sure that doesn't help much either. It's hopeless!!!

Z10 radius arms will help considerably. Some good sticky tires also.

1st and 2nd? Try 1st through 4th. LOL The only way to catch traction is be easy on the gas. A boost controller would help, but that would be more expensive than a set of good tires. As for the z10 bars, they would only be good for the first 60ft of the race.

Hah. I'm only on 4.5psi of boost according to my cheapo gauge. My friend might be nice to me and get me a boost controller, so we'll see.

the avc-r has boost controlling relative to rpm or gear.that should let ya run low boost in 1 then gradually increase it per gear. youll get all the lower boos levels but it will just kill the boost at a lower level allowing you to still flor it but it will at least be contrallable. also the blitz singal and dual solenoid have 2 and 4 boost levels you can set too. i think haveing the radius arms will still allow you to burn out though...it will just be a cleaner burn out with no hop. wider stickier tires if possible too

---it just dawned on me.... why do you only have 3 cyl firing?---

Well, I'm trying to iron that out. Heehee. We think it's a weak/old ignition. I never replaced the cap/rotor/coil/wires in 115K miles. I just did a cap, rotor and wires replacement. Those are nice.....but methinks the coil is going. What do you think?

Buy S03s. Lower the air pressure in the tires...I know youre not going to get out at a light to do it but how about keeping the front tires at constant 25 psi or so? NOt compeltely deflated but just a little.

Decent tires and an LSD... and even then I still spin em through first and second...

it's almost unavoidable... LOL
