max whp for street tires?
what do you guys think is a safe power limit for street tires on an eg(i have 215 falken azenis)? right now i am at 290whp on 9psi. i would like to make between 320-350whp after i turn up the boost. my concern is that if i turn up the boost i will not have traction in third gear as well and its just going to spin all day.
thanks
thanks

Lol...HOLY LOADED QUESTION BATMAN!!
I run 600 whp on the street with 215/50/15 BFG G-force sports. But I have boostxgearxrpm set really well also. I can nail 2nd gear and maintain traction all the way through 4th gear but you better believe that 2nd gear isn't seeing 600 hp haha. Get good tuning software and you'll be ok man

Re: max whp for street tires?
Better tires, slightly lower tire pressures, good suspension, and a soft transition when boost kicks in. Last year, I was spinning in 3rd gear (Yoko R-comps) at 580-600 WHP, and I thought it was the most power a FWD Honda can hold.
This year, after I installed a FullRace traction bar, Toyo R888's (205-50-15), PIC suspension, raised the rear a bit, and controlled the boost response via AVCR, the car never spun 3rd gear even at 620 WHP. It getd full power in 3rd gear too. I ran so many other RWD cars within my power level, and my car hooks and never fell back at all.

Re: max whp for street tires?
thanks for the replies guys. i am going to invest in traction bars over the winter and possibly better tires.
how big of a difference did you notice with the traction bar?

Re: max whp for street tires?
how is that possible?!?lol
your right I dont drive my car....Car was tuned by Matt Shue he will vouch for me...I run NLR AMS 500 boost by gear but in the warm months i dont have to turn it down but in the winter I turn it down a few pounds which helps. This is with no traction bars, tokico blues and spornline springs.
radials are on my list as well as traction bars but right now i dont have the funds for that.

On General UHP 205s I'll hook solid in 3rd at 430whp. Boost by gear is very helpful for the first few gears.
I've got full race bars, and Tein SS coilovers on the stiffest setting in the rear. I found that it spins more after the traction bars probably because theres more power making it to the ground. But it is much more controlled and straight.

Re: max whp for street tires?
So, if you can put down 620whp effectively, that means the rest of us are still going to be stuck in that 400-450whp range. Tony, you always manage to do things the rest of us would think impossible. By the way, i'm in the market for a new set of tires...how do you like those R888s? If you want to PM me about it that'd save clogging this thread...

Re: max whp for street tires?
I was able to get traction with omni street coilovers, full race bar, and 225 50 15 bfg radials at 600whp in my del sol. The downside of this was that the bfgs do not last long which I why I am standing by for tonys response to daily driving with the toyo r888s. Through my review I have found that the Toyo RA1s come at 8/32 where the r888s come at 6/32 however I am curious on difference of rubber is being used.
I need to replace my bfgs and have been contemplating between the r888s and the ra1s.
I also have boost by gear but its not working properly. I think something might be wrong with my ECU.

Tony your setup gives me hope lol
I've always had traction problem with my car. Wastegate is about 350whp and it won't hook until 3rd gear so my boost by gear is pointless in 1st/2nd.
How much power is everyone getting 2nd gear to hold on street tires?
I'm running 205/40/17 Toyo T1Rs
