96-00 civics chasis really stiff?
i was just wondering, for those of you who have EK's, does it seem like the chasis is really stiff? i havea 97 dx coupe with only ITR springs and it feels really rigid. compared to my brothers car, an eg hatch, it doesnt feel normal.
ummmm you will never really "feel" the stiffness of the chassis. I bet youre feeling a difference in wheel size or tire manufacturer rather than the chassis.
They did add some welds in that time frame and body style change. But beyond that the EG is generally a pretty soft frame and couples in general are stiffer. (if memory serves me correctly)
any modifications to your brother hatch? that could be a lot of it right there. Stock those cars have very soft suspension and a soft chassis...bad mix.
best way to stiffen that sucker up is a cage.
I had the same car as you do and I had that sucker lifting wheels. come into a drive way and float a rear wheel...looks on people faces were great.

What kind of cage did you get? Bolt in or Weld in? How many points? I'm looking to do a 6pt on my EK some time soon.
I'd read something that suggested honda made an effort to stiffen the EK's over the EG's.
