lsvtec C/R 11.8!! with b16 pistons?
Well i was just on c-speed and used their calculator for my lsvtec and it came out to 11.8 with p30 pistons and 11.5 with pr3 pistons and those are both b16 pistons..im doing and lsvtec but i dont want that much damn compression i was looking at 10.5 or so...what should i use? it says 10.2 with P72 gsr pistons i dont know anyone with a tip?
i also looked at the c-spedracing compression calculator and
for my ls/vtec build up i was thinking about the pr-3's to get me around 11.5
u can still use 91 octane on that compression no problem.
just have your car tuned
hondata for sure.
im still undecided though if i should go ahead and budget build my block with oem parts or save for aftermarket.
im using a gsr head for my build up.
are u using gsr or b16 head?

i run 11.6 i think and it's fine. Keep the high compression, 10.5 is right in the middle, like i guess ok for all motor and i guess ok for boosting. My friend has ctr pistons and he yields i think like 12.2 or something.
Yea im going to use the B16 head because its more like the type R...im just going to use itr exhuast cam and ctr intake cam...but yea all i run is 91 octane i just cut down to 87 because 91 didnt matter with my motor all stock...i dont know it said if i used gsr pistons that i would be mid 10 so thats where i want to be at..i dont want to be to high because i'll be driving it alot too..

why would you want comperssion like that? i can't tell 1 difference daily driving wise between me 11.6 compressio and my stock like 10.5.. jsut that it's slower. 10.5 is weaksauce for boosting and all motor.. get jdm itr pistons and u wont be too high or too low.. I'm gonna ge a 2 ply gasket soon and bump it up to 11.8.

I run on P30 pistons everyday. We have also taken this car and motor to the track almost every weekend this season. We have raced at all the major events.... Except for Arizona and Texas. I run on 91 octane for the track and on the street. I also just use a chipped ecu, a GSR head, and stock injectors. You should be fine to use p30's with a b16 head and run 91 octane. I run 11.96 at the track with this set-up... You can look at the link in my signature for specs on the motor, because it is for sale. Hope this helps.

why would anyone want 10.5 cr. doesent make sense to me
if your all motor you should get the b16 pistons and you should want compression to be about 11.5 which is perfect for 91 octane
and if you want to boost you should want low cr pistons 9.1 cr
why would anyone want to be in the middle
