You can run a greddy kit at the standard 5-6 psi and be fine.

I doubt that trans will hold more than 150 WHP

As Bauley said, running that must power won't be a problem, but your automatic tranmssison is known to be a bane of high power output Civics. Without a complete rebuild by someone like Level 10 (or a similar place) you're asking for transmission failure.

What about the Edelbrock kit? Or are they about the same HP wise?

The edlebrock kit is much more complete. It comes with new injectors, intake manifold, BOV, intercooler, etc. When it's all said and done, if you have the money, I'd pick the Edlebrock kit.

User Marauder runs it and loves it. I have the Greddy kit and love itm but not as much as I love the Edlebrock kit.

Dude, where in the hell do you get that from?

The standard Greddy kit doesn't come with a intercooler or BOV and doesn't make near the power. Now you add the intercooler kit and you will get much closer, but the resulting price will be really close to the same.

Also, just look at the end resulting quality. After installation, the Edelbrock kit is pure show quality. New everything from the exhaust to intake manifold, except for the throttle body and primary fuel rail. IMHO...you get what you pay for with the Edelbrock kit.

Now lets get to engine management. The Greddy kit only gives you stuff to add fuel, larger injectors and a fuel computer to add on and VTEC control. The Edelbrock electronics also retard timing with boost, to keep you safe from detonation. It doesn't eliminate the chance of detonation, but greatly reduces the risk, and only retards it with boost, so it doesn't hurt performance when you aren't in boost.

The one thing I like about Greddy is that if you don't have all the money to put up front, you can get the turbo kit and when you have money to upgrade, you can get the upgrade package.

I've known a guy who turbo'd a automatic car. He ran 12 psi of boost, but you will need a better torque converter, and you wont make as good of power, but its still better than without boost!

Go with a Level 10 Torque converter and dont worry about your HP numbers, just let them grow
