Need to resurface rotor?
I need to get my front brake pads changed but do I need to get the rotors resurfaced as well? I went to a couple shops and they charge at least $50 extra for the resurfacing, and say "If we don't resurface, it could make a lot of noise." Hmmm. I have 75K miles on my civic and had the pads changed once before.
Yes, when you change pads, resurface the rotors if they are within spec for thickness. If not, you'll need to replace them.
I got both of my rears resurfaced for 10-15 dollars at a local mechanic when I needed it done last time.

resurfacing or new rotors is always good when putting new pads on. When you put pads on without resurfacing, any grooves in the rotor can wear the pads faster and make vibrations. With what some charge to resurface rotors, your almost further ahead to just buy new rotors.
Yea get the resurfaced, just dnt take it to a actuall brake shop, take to like a mechinic and have them do it. It is always cheaper. Just make sure you take them just the rotors and not the car. Or you could just buy new rotors, just get some prices and see which is going to be better

I was only charged $15 for my Teg rear brakes to get resurfaced. Look around and you should get a better deal.
