I usually don't redline at all. Just very close, like 7.5k-8k. I do this like 6 times a day......hopefully I won't screw my engine over.

 

I do it allll the time.

 

everyday, every time i step into the car....about 5 times 1st and 2nd gear
but not 3rd or i'll be speedingggg

i'd think u only need to do valve adjustments.

Depends on the mood i am in. I will usually do it once a day, its like taking vitamins. I need my Vtec and that feeling if a full throttle shift at redline. I try not to beat my car, but some weekends i will tear on her. Peace

It depends on how far I drive. If I'm almost home after a long drive, I see redline through 1st and 2nd maybe twice. For a quick run to the video store, I don't even see VTEC.

Maybe if I knew for sure my motor was in great condition, I'd see redline more often. My mileage is up there...

 

After a good trashing my car, I always feel bad. I dunno why, there made to rev high. But I still feel guilty sometimes, I don't wanna break her.

 

hehehe it's a honda i have to rev the **** out of it. my poor car i beat on it, but it seems to be strong like bull grrrr. i change the oil every 2k miles (benefits of working at jiffy lube). it gets rewarded for its efforts hehe.

 

About as many times as I take out a motor to install a turbo...

I try to avoid going over 3500rpm in my gs-r. I heard that revving it above that could be bad!

 

The more you beat it, the less the life expectancy...

YES it might be made to rev to 6-8k on a shift.. BUT imagine everytime you wake up, you mom comes in and smacks you upside the head... eventually something is gonna give..

I personally only redline when racing, it preserves the gas mileage, wear and tear and doesn't freek out my passengers... If I redlined all the time... my tires would also be bald...
